January Reset
What to watch, read, and draw energy from in what may seem like the longest month of the year.

New year, new me? I’m not so sure about this mantra but I feel there’s always lots of pressure in January—on all of us!—to get into healthier habits, be more productive, set intentions, start journaling (honestly I do want to try!), have glowing skin (lol)… the list goes on. It can be a lot. I hate to admit it but I definitely feel the pressure of starting 2025 on the right foot. But after a work trip to Barcelona and feeling slightly sick & guilty that I haven’t been doing enough, I thought I’d put together a list of things that have been making me happy (literally sparking joy). Because sometimes we need to indulge in a binge-worthy TV show or an outfit that makes us feel amazing.
Reading: I’m currently reading “A Perfect Day to Be Alone” by Nanae Aoyama (my “January in Japan” pick) and “So Thrilled For You” by Holly Bourne (whose books I’d really enjoyed in the past). The books are so different and yet both have really grabbed me from the get go. I’m also trying not to put as much emphasis on my Goodreads reading goal this year but I’ll let you know how that goes!
Watching: I’ve been loving The Bear and yes, I’m very, very late to the party but… how good is this show?? I think some of my favorite episodes are (surprisingly enough) the non-food related ones. The Bear is hilarious, raw, heartbreaking, and also super fashionable (I love Carmy’s jackets… or more like all of his outfits). Can’t wait for season 4!
Also, I’m always a big fan of “what’s in your bag” videos and the ever-so-stylish Peggy Gou’s one is a great one. I found it only recently and yes, she rocks. We both give sheet masks as gifts, so at least we have one thing in common haha!
Wearing (I wish): Really into Lemaire’s FW2025 collection!
I’ve also been saving J.Crew’s Olympia Gayot’s looks and let me just say I think I need me some stirrup leggings!
Visiting: I haven’t been up to a lot because of my pesky cold but I did visit an amazing new cafe before my Barcelona trip that reminded me of Japan 🥹 & that serves the best matcha in Prague HANDS DOWN (they source the matcha from Kyoto—a good sign I’d say!).

Listening to: I recently came across the “Blamo!” podcast on fashion, design, and creativity and it’s a new fave. Give it a listen!
Exercising: Haven’t been doing any of that due to you-know-what but before my Barcelona trip, I came across this fitness channel and yep, I subscribed. I’m already devoted to a few pilates instructors online (Lottie Murphy is my forever favorite) but I also love discovering new ones.
What have you been enjoying lately? Whatever it is, I hope you can take it slow and have a relaxing (but also energizing!) winter & spring. Till next time!
